Breakthrough in Dense Limestone Development by Applying Active Acid Fracturing Process

Kyrgyzstan West Marisu block of Anhui Guangda Mining Investment Co., Ltd. , is located in the northeast slope of Fergana Basin. For a long time, horizon IX has not been developed, because of the heterogeneous formation, and tight reservoir, and being recognized by the geological community as a steel plate stratum. In order to make a breakthrough in this formation, Anhui Guangda organized a group of geological, engineering and chemical experts, and selected a new active acid formulation to fracture the formation after several studies and arguments. After twelve hours of construction, the fracturing was successful; after the fracturing was completed, its XM2-5 well, using a 2mm choke to blow off, produced 24.1 cubic meters of crude oil in 24 hours. The expert group is now summarizing its experience and refining the process, and will develop the whole block on a large scale.
