President Zhang Daofu of Anhui Guangda met with representatives of the CUPET

On June 10th, President Zhang Daofu of Anhui Guangda met with Mr. Jorge Hernandez Llamos, Deputy Manager of CUPET, Mr. Osvaldo Lopez Corzo Msc.P.Eng., Chief Exploration Specialist, and Mr. MSC. Juan Barrizonte Ballesteros, Director of E&P Commercial Department, and other guests from Cuba. Mr. Zhang Kun, Assistant to the President of Anhui Guangda and Mr. Xin Zhiguo, Chief Geologist also attended the meeting together.

Anhui Guangda had already started laying out the cooperation on the Cuban oil block in 2018, and was already old friends with the delegates, thus the talks were always held in a friendly atmosphere. Mr.Jorge Hernandez Llamos firstly introduced the new progress of foreign cooperation of CUPET, and then invited President Zhang Daofu to visit Cuba, and hoped to sign cooperation agreements for the blocks that Anhui Guangda was interested in after the preliminary inspection. MSC. Mr. Juan Barrizonte Ballesteros proposed that they would be willing to coordinate and solve any difficulties in the commercial aspect.

President Zhang Daofu expressed his gratitude for the recognition and goodwill of CUPET, and then also introduced the recent progress of the our projects in the UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Canada, the United States, Grenada and Tajikistan to the guests. Finally, President Zhang expressed his long-term optimism for the development of Cuban oil and his willingness to work hand in hand with CUPET to make contributions to the development of the Cuban oil industry. After careful evaluation, Anhui Guangda decided to cooperate with CUPET in three development blocks and seven exploration blocks.

In the end, the two parties agreed to sign a final cooperation agreement in the near future.
